This project involves the conversion of a duplex into a single-family home, including a complete renovation and the addition of a 17' × 24' extension to increase the living space and modernize the building.
Underpinning and formwork are undertaken to reinforce the existing foundation, while ensuring compliance with current building standards. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were also upgraded to optimize occupant comfort and safety.
The new extension, at the rear of the building, creates an open-plan living space bathed in natural light, as well as a spacious master suite. The building envelope is improved for greater energy efficiency, with the addition of better insulation and high-performance windows. The interior organization has been rethought to ensure fluid circulation and enhanced comfort, both on the ground and upper floors.
